Olwen's Pantry | Wortcunner's Salt Blend

OLWEN'S PANTRY: This product is from the Olwen's seasonal Spring line and our Pantry family of finishing salts and seasonings.

One older gentleman I met had lived on a homestead for decades, and he told me an old saying: "If you can make it until the ramps come up, you'll get through the rest of winter." By now it's a spring tradition to make savory salt from wild spring greens and ramps I get from many longtime friends thinning their own mountainside patches. As ramps are an endangered native allium, it's important to me that I only get them from people who share my commitment to preserving our local plants.

In this 2026 blend, I opted for a simple mix of local ramps, stinging nettles, and chickweed in Redmond's Sea Salt. All three of these herbs are packed with flavor and make the salt a lovely green hue. Use it in place of table salt to garnish dishes, season vegetables and meats, spice soups and stews, or even as a sophisticated salt rim on a garden cocktail!
