CAILLEACH'S SMOKE: This product is from the Cailleach's seasonal Winter line and our Smoke family of essential oil-dipped incenses.
In winter, I love working in my apothecary. It's a good time to take stock of what I have and slowly reorganize. I find that spending time with the plants, even in their sleeping season, brings some of their dreams to me and inspires what I do during the year.
Cunning is one word which we call the powers of witchcraft and folk practice by. It's the cleverness and shrewdness by which we and our ancestors survived. It's a word that brings up images of a simpler or fairy doctor working the bottles for the sick and aggrieved in their community. They have a living knowledge of the plants, the land, and the people's needs that brings them respect. This incense was made to capture the scent of an herbalist's cupboard, where the smells of many herbs and tinctures and potions all mingle together.
This incense is charged with magick to help you sus out cunning solutions and ideas from all around you. Burn it when you need a little more resourcefulness and inspiration.
Our essential oil incense is made by soaking natural brown joss sticks (made with a tree bark) in a blend of aromatic essential oils and a few potent drops of our house-made working oils. It contains no other added chemicals or burning agents.
Ingredients: bamboo stick, joss bark powder, clove leaf essential oil [Syzygium aromaticum], rosemary essential oil [Salvia rosmarinus], star anise essential oil [Illicium verum], lemongrass essential oil [Cymbopogon citratus], sunflower oil
Each tube contains 20 7" scented joss sticks that burn for about 30-35 minutes each. Only burn in a well-ventilated environment. Please do not leave burning incense unattended.
Some essential oils (cedar, mint, etc.) have compounds that crystallize out of the oil when exposed to cold temperatures. This will make the sticks look frosty or sparkly. It can be wiped off with a dry cloth or burned as-is.
