Who is the Cailleach? Why is she so important during the Winter months? What can she bring to your practice? This Winter Hag, Deer Mother, Queen of Caves, Keeper of the flame, she grabs the Winter and holds it tight because it brings her youth and strength.
The energy of the Cailleach is fierce and pointed. Directed and intense. During Winter, we step into the cave and tend the fires. We travel deep into the threshold of death and our Beloved Ancestors. The magick of the Cailleach brings with it that breath of untamed wildness, destruction, creation, protection and wisdom. When you feel yourself slipping into that robotic schedule of work, home, sleep...she can bring you to the fire and help you tend the flames, bring life to your creations, help you move mountains and show you how to remain true to yourself.
We will craft a Cailleach doll that will bring wisdom, creativity, fierce protection and the strength to handle the fierce winds of the days of long nights. She will be filled with bone and evergreen to give her life and breath. She will come with her hag stone to help you craft your own pendulum to work on your own inner knowing.
We will craft our own Evergreen talismans and wards to decorate our hearth and home for the Solstice when the Sun begins to return and the Cailleach begins her ascent to stone.
This gathering is filled with the scent of pine, spruce and cedar. We will drink yummy teas made by our witch sisters at Ginny Lou's and we will work poppet and tree magick with the wisdom of the Hag of Winter!
